Who is responsible.

This website is operated by Liene Daktina, trading as Northglow Luxembourg, an independent professional registered in Luxembourg. I am the controller of the personal data described here. What this notice covers.

It covers personal data collected through this website: the contact form, the testimonial form, requests to be sent new posts by email, and the technical data created when you visit.

The contact form.

When you send an enquiry I receive the enquiry type, your first and last name, your email address, your message and the time you sent it. I use them to answer you and to manage the professional communication that follows. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, where no contract is contemplated, my legitimate interest in answering people who contact me (Article 6(1)(f)). Retention: 24 months after our last exchange, unless we enter into a contract, in which case the data is kept with the contract records for as long as the law requires. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to anything.

The testimonial form.

When you submit a testimonial I receive the language, how we worked together, the testimonial text, how you want to be credited (name, organisation or both), a public link if you add one, a photograph or logo if you upload one, the consent statements you confirmed and the time of submission. I use them to review the testimonial and, if approved, to publish it on this website with the credit you chose. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time through the contact form, and the testimonial is then removed; withdrawal does not affect what happened before it. Retention: while the testimonial is published and for 12 months after it is withdrawn or declined, so that I can show what was agreed; the image is deleted at the same time.

Where the data is stored.

Enquiries and testimonials are stored in the database and file storage of this website, which runs on Lovable (lovable.dev), with its cloud backend provided by Supabase (supabase.com). Both act as processors on my instructions under their data processing terms. The database and file storage for this website are located in the European Union.

Notifications about new enquiries and testimonials, and my replies to you, are sent through my Proton Mail account. Proton AG is established in Switzerland, a country the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection.

The content of your enquiry or testimonial is never entered into AI tools. I use AI-assisted tools to build and maintain this website. They work on the website's code, not on your messages. I do not sell personal data and I do not use it for advertising.

Emails you ask for.

This website has no newsletter. If you ask to be sent new posts from Another Way to Look at Policy by email, or to be told when a new series begins, I store your email address, the time of your request and the time of your confirmation. You first receive a message asking you to confirm your address, and nothing else until you do. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). Every email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing withdraws your consent. Retention: unconfirmed requests are deleted after 30 days; confirmed addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which only a record of the unsubscribe is kept so that I do not write to you again.

Visiting the website.

When you visit, the hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, the pages requested, the time, and your browser type, in server logs used for security and to keep the website running. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Article 6(1)(f)). Logs are kept for the period set by the hosting provider and are not used to identify you. If a page fails to load, an automatic error report containing technical details of the error, and not the contents of any form, may be sent to Lovable so that the fault can be fixed. Fonts are served from this website's own server. No request is made to a font provider.

Cookies and similar technologies.

This website sets no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. It uses only what is technically necessary to deliver the pages you request. Because no non-essential cookies are used, there is no cookie banner. If that ever changes, this notice will say so and consent will be asked for first.

Your rights.

You have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future. To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form at lienedaktina.com/connect. I answer within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), Luxembourg, cnpd.lu.

Changes to this notice.

I may update this notice when the website, my activities or the law change. The version published on this page, with its date, is the one that applies.
