1. Who operates this website.

This website is operated by Liene Daktina, trading as Northglow Luxembourg, an independent professional registered in Luxembourg and working in AI policy and EU innovation.

2. What this website is for.

This website presents my professional work, services, articles and resources on AI capacity building, AI literacy training, EU digital policy, European innovation, and expert involvement in EU, public, private and institutional projects.

Everything on this website is provided for general information. It is not legal, financial or other professional advice. Where I describe the EU AI Act or other legislation, I describe it for general understanding. What a rule requires of you depends on your situation, and you should take professional advice before acting on it.

Briefings, reports and other analyses published here are my personal observations, made at public events or from public sources, and are based on the information available at the time of the event or of writing. They are not made on behalf of any organiser, speaker or organisation, and they are not revised for later developments unless the piece says so.

All services are provided on request. Services, deliverables, fees and responsibilities are agreed separately and in writing. Nothing on this website is an offer that becomes a contract on its own.

Articles reflect my views at their date of publication. I may correct, update or remove them.

3. How I use AI.

The texts on this website are written by me. AI tools assist with research and drafting. Before anything is published, every figure is checked against its named source and every sentence is edited and verified by me. I hold editorial responsibility for everything published here. Where a particular piece was produced differently, a note beneath it says so. The photographs on this website are real photographs, not generated by AI. This website has no chatbot and makes no automated decisions about you; if an AI assistant is ever added, it will say what it is.

4. Copyright and use of my materials.

The original text, articles, branding, signature banner and other materials I have created for this website belong to me.

You are welcome to link to any page of this website and to quote short extracts, with my name and a link to the source. Please contact me through the contact form before reproducing my materials in full or for commercial purposes, unless the law or a licence you hold already permits it.

Using a photograph from this website requires the permission of its rights holder.

5. Photographs.

Photographs I own or commissioned belong to me or are used under a licence I hold.

Photographs of me at public events were taken by others and shared with me by the photographer or the organiser. Rights in them remain with the photographer or the organisation that commissioned them. I show them as a record of my participation in those events, and I credit the photographer or the organiser where known.

If you are a photographer, a rights holder or a person who appears in a photograph on this website, and you would prefer a different credit, no credit, or that the photograph is not shown here, tell me through the contact form at lienedaktina.com/connect. I will act promptly and, where the request is substantiated, change or remove the credit or take the photograph down.

This website may link to websites operated by others. Links are provided for information. A link is not an endorsement, and I am not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of websites I do not operate.

7. Contacting me, and emails you ask for.

If you contact me through the form at lienedaktina.com/connect, I use what you send me to answer your enquiry and to manage the professional communication that follows. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to any mailing.

This website has no newsletter. If you ask to be sent new posts from Another Way to Look at Policy by email, or to be told when a new series begins, I will first send you a message asking you to confirm your address. You receive nothing until you confirm. Every email I send you includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Your consent to these emails is asked for separately and is never a condition of using this website or of contacting me.

8. Personal data.

Personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Luxembourg data protection law. The Privacy Notice explains what personal data I collect, why, on what legal basis, how long I keep it, who receives it, and how to exercise your rights, including your right to lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD).

This website uses only the cookies and similar technologies described in the Privacy Notice.

I aim to keep this website accurate and up to date. Information may change, and errors or interruptions may occur. I do not guarantee that the website is free of errors or available at all times.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
